Unkown Absa debt

On 28 January 2016 I received an sms from MBD Attorneys stating that I owe Absa money on an credit card that I am not aware of. I phone MBD and the guy told me that the debt was handed over to them on the 27th January 2016. I laid a complaint with Absa as well and Monique Naude mailed me an letter stating that it is old debt that Absa had sold to MBD. After 8 years this is the first time that I have ever heard of any monies that I owe Absa. Firstly she said that this matter was handed over to MMT Attoneys. I never got any correspondence from them. Then after 8 years all off a sudden it is sold to MBD. I took up the matter with MBD as well and they informed me that it was old debt that they brought from Absa. I am not aware of any monies owning to them. According to law if there was any monies this is prescribed debt. I have not acknowledged any debt to Absa in the past three consecutive years, either in writing and verbally. I have not been summoned to make a payment by a creditor for the debt within the past three years. According to the National Credit Amendment Act, published 13 March 2015, it prohibits the sale and collection of Prescribed debt.
