Unfairly charged

Good evening I am writing to you with a broken and heavy heart, I opened Savings account with Absa bank Lakeside mall benoni because I was interested in their Investment account then some other day I went to visit an Absa bank as a client, a lady who assisted me persuaded me to change my savings to cheque account. I didnt know that cheque account charges too much. It started charging me upto R1,000 per month, I decided to close the account I visited the bank and notify the lady at the bank to please close the account, there was stop order for that Investment account everymonth, asked her to close that stop order then she said to me she is unable to close the account I am owing R192.00 just after paying the R400. I moved my salary from Absa immediately to the other bank to avoid their high bank charges and informed them immediately by visiting the branch. To my shock now Absa has send me message that I am owing the Account R691.10 this was yesterday the 13-August 2025, today the 14-August 2025 they said I am owing them R798.00 please note that the account is no longer is use and I have countless times asked them for the Account to be closed. I went to bank with Absa because my poor mother advised me as an old client, to bank with Absa because they are good and they do not charge but my experience with Absa is so heart breaking I am crying as I am writing to you because I feel like now I am in prison of debt with Absa, even my salary is not even enough for me to be tormented by the bank like this. My poor old mother (Absa's old client) she was so disappointed when i told her this. She is very sad, I am warning Absa Clients to be careful with this bank is like a ****mer. I seriously need help
