Unfair treatment By absa bank.
Took vehicle finance with absa 2014 and took a term of 72months, unfortunately I was Retrenched 2020 january and I was only owing the a balance of residual amount of 30%, decided to keep the vehicle when retrenched I then requested a settlement letter with absa on the 14th of May 2020, they told me they cant print it I will get it the following day...it was then emailed the following day, on receiving the letter I then went to the same branch in less than 2hours to settle the amount of just more than R76000....was then advised that due to lockdown I will receive the NATIS for my vehicle a month later ie. End of June...2 months after the settlement I receive a call from absa employee Venaigaran Reddy asking me if I'm aware that I owe absa R5000, was then informed that I didnt pay the month of April, I then explained that I requested settlement letter mid May...he said he will get back to me to date he hasn't. Then recently received a call from Absa employee 2 namely Lucky Malapile who promised me that he is going to sort this matter out for me after informing him about what happened quoting him precisely he said to me on a call, "Absa must right off that amount but dont worry I'm the guy who's gonna help you, just send me everything you discussed with the gentleman who previously contacted you". I did exactly that, to my suprise he then emails me days later saying their clause of on my settlement letter stipulates if they for whatever reason they have made a mistake with calculations I'm still liable to pay any amount I owe them he continues to say the April debit order tried to go off same day I settled so that means I am liable to pay....rep**** by same all my debit orders have always been end of the month I have never had a debit order during the month and I settled on the 15th of May in the morning of receiving a letter of how much I owe from you. Mr Lucky Malapile hasnt responded to my last email and I am frustrated as the amount is now more than R7000 and I haven't received the NATIS for my vehicle as yet (4months after settling my loan)....I am not happy with the service at Absa after so many years with them, took their account while I was a grade 10 leaner and this is how they are treating me now.
