Unfair handling of my Absa Vehicle Finance Account

Hello peter.

I reside in Mosselbay Western Cape.

I am having a Vehicle Finance Account with Absa Bank.

On the 17/01/2022 I was provisionally placed on Unpaid Sick Leave from work due to medical reasons till further notice, and as i have exhausted my paid sick leave.

My work provided me with a letter stating the mentioned above on the letter, for me to aproach and engage with all my Creditor's as I won't be getting any Salary from my employer going forward till such time my case is taken care of by my employer.

I then went to all my Creditor's stating and explaining my current situation with my work or employer as I wasn't going to be paid due to these medical matters that has occurred with me.

I went to Absa with the letter from my employer and I was attended by a Lady whom she called and explain the situation with Absa Vehicle Finance Department, but it didn't go well as the response from Vehicle Finance Department refuses to help and or to assist me on this regard. The response was they don't accept the letter and I need to do payment arrangements. I found it funny because I wasn't going to be paid a monthly salary going forward yet I am trying to reach and sicking a solution with them yet I failed. So they refused to listen or even have the letter with them to follow with my work should it suit them for enquiries. The Vehicle Finance Department didn't want anything but for me to make payment arrangements. I couldn't do that as only get one Salary per month that wasn't going to get as the letter stating the reasons of Unpaid Sick Leave. Clearly I wasn't happy at all with what was happening with me first, secondly how is the Absa Vehicle Finance is handling my case unfairly. Thirdly no income how am I going to pay them.

Months has gone by and Account Accumulated Eareas, Once I have learned that I am being placed on Medical Boarding from work and that I will be getting paid monthly from work. I then went to Absa branch in Mosselbay luckily I got attention from the same lady who happens to assist me with all the issues regarding this Vehicle Finance Account. This was now on the 29 September 2022 and we made payment arrangements for first payment for the 25 October 2022 and it's on paper. And the lady by the name :Jo-Laine Cloete who help me with payment arrangements even sent an email to Lucas Lourens on the arrangements of payment on the 29 September 2022. Lucas didn't even respond to the calls and emails from Jo-Laine. Anyway first payment was done on the 25 October 2022 as agreed with the amount stated on the agreement of payment.

On the 02 December 2022 I received Sammons from the High Court delivered by the Sheriff in Mosselbay. Sammons dated 29 November 2022 and with Sheriff dated stamped 30 November 2022. Surprisingly enough to have been gone so far and only one sided to be listened to. I found it not fair at all to me as a customer. I guess I must also aproach my lawyers to get things done the fair way.

Then on 03 December 2022 I went to Absa same lady help me to querie this matter with Sammons and she called the Vehicle Finance Department and the response was there's nothing they can do now it's all from the Court now.

I failed to understand what is going on with me and Absa on this matter. I feel it's Unfair handling of my case with them as Absa and it's been a frustrating Journey and Sad story for me in this matter and bad experiences with Absa in my case. I don't wish anyone could go through same experience, we deserve to be treated fairly and right in handling matters arising between customers and businesses as our lives Matters too we all have rights and must be treated like so and be respected.

This matter should have been handled carefully and right to benefit both parties in reaching very good friendly decisions to suite both parties in the right direction.

I have tried several times to do my part and I have been failed by Absa in all efforts put on the table before them. I wish I could be helped by any senior manager at Absa Vehicle Finance to resolve this matter in good faith. By the way I am medically boarded from work but willing to continue with my vehicle finance payment till it's settled.

I wish this could be resolved quickly .

I hope you find this in order.

Best Regards .
