Unfair checks

Today a consultant called me with an option to increase my credit limit. I confirmed that I was interested and she proceeded with the call. After providing all my income and expenditure information she said I am approved for a certain amount and asked if I accept, to which I said yes. She read out all the terms and explained the new instalment etc. Then all of a sudden she just said, sorry it declined your expenses are too much. I was driving at the time so couldn't probe further but I can't understand how 1 minute its approved and the next minute its declined. I am not at all satisfied with this as there is no way my expenses are more. I specifically told her that my husband pays the biggest expense and this is shown on my bank statements. Can someone please get to the bottom of this as I am not happy with this at all.
