Unfair and undemocratic

Absa mistakenly put an interdict on my bond. In 2009. An agreement was made to catch up my arrears. I paid up all arrears an my bond account is up to date and in good standing for the past few years.

The also removed my account from legal but failed to remove the interdict. Now I have the oppertunity to move my bond to SA Home loans at a much better interest rate and monthly repayment than Absa (I have requested a lower interest rate from them. Was told I could once my account is up to date. Absa didn't even want to consider).

SA Homeloans did a credit check and found my report in good standings and approved my bond switch.

That was more than a month ago. And the switch now cannot be done because ABSA refuses to lift or remove the interdict from my bond so that the switch can take place. Even according to the law working for Absa they requested Absa to remove this interdict but for some reason Absa even refuse their request.

Furthermore I need a letter from Absa only stating that my account is up to date. They fiercely refuse to give me such letter for some reason. I was requested by the court to get such letter from Absa in order to withdraw an old debt review court order.

I phones and e mailed all possible departments.... home loans, customer care, legal dept. Debt review dept.... and so on. And every one I spoke to told me they are not authorised to give me such letter. The then refer me to the next person and eventually I get back to the first. A circle of uselessness.

Now, in order to seek legal advice with these matters I need from Absa:

1. A fully comprehensive explanation in writing of why there is an interdict on my bond, and especially why they refuse to lift it. The very friendly and helpful lady reacting to hellopeter complaints, Vanessa Crowe told me that according to Absa they will only lift this interdict once I pay the bond in full or sell the house. I want to know why? Even if it has been up to date for years and I want to take it to another institution?

2. I want, also in writing an explanation why Absa refuse, and nobody workin there is able to to give me a simple official letter stating that my account is in good standings and has been up to date for quite some time?

Looks like I will have to get a court order myself to force Absa to do this.

Absa is shockingly pathetic and I must say they were not as pathetic before the amalgamation with FNB. Tbey should take note of the helpfulnes and professionalism of banks like Standard bank and Nedbank who gave me such letters immediately only asking for it once.

Go and look how many requests apart from all my phone calls I did on the website and e-mails that was just ignored.

These things must me made public so that people can be warned how Absa operates and be very very careful before taking a home loan with Absa. They put interdicts on peoples bonds even if the bond is up to date and sorted. As if you are a ********.

Still the interdict is rock solid on my fully up to date account. Why? Why is there still an interdict on my account after more than a year or more?

My account has long been taken from your legal dept. Why should this interdict remain? Why keep punishing me? At Absa you do not rectify things whenever the account is corrected?

I want to switch my bond to another institution because I am totally fed up with Absa incompetence and ignorance. But I can't do that because of this ridiculous unfair and wrong interdict.

One straight question:

Why is this interdict still there even when I was cleared from legal, and when will you remove it?

I need an acceptable explanation in writing please. ASAP.

Still no answer to my question. No proper feedback. Interdict still there. I want to switch to SA Homeloans but can't. Absa refuse to lift this interdict. Why?
