Unfair and Harassing Treatment Over Vehicle Account – Despite Ongoing Payments
I am deeply disappointed with the treatment I have been receiving from Absa regarding my vehicle account.
After losing my job in June 2025, I continued making regular payments towards my car. Although I could not always pay the full R5,400 instalments due to a financial dispute that arose after I relocated from one province to another, I consistently paid R4,500, and whenever possible, the instalment itself or more, to reduce the arrears. Despite my sincere effort to keep the account active and up to date, I am now being harassed through constant emails and phone calls from an Absa representative who appears determined to make my situation unnecessarily difficult.
I was recently threatened that the bank will repossess my car, even though I am only behind by about R6,300, which is effectively one missed month. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that I personally know several people who have missed three or more months of car payments without ever receiving such aggressive treatment or threats. It feels unfair and inconsistent, especially given that I have made every effort to communicate and pay the instalments.
I have already reported my situation and explained that I have now secured new employment and am committed to bringing my account fully up to date. The ongoing ************ is extremely frustrating and emotionally taxing, especially when I have shown commitment and good faith throughout this difficult period.
I kindly request that Absa review this matter and handle it with fairness, empathy, and professionalism without further harassment or threats. I am willing and ready to continue making payments and simply ask for reasonable treatment and understanding.
