Unauthorised Debit Order for Credit Life

I have noticed that Absa has been debiting my cheque account for Credit Life which is not a compulsory option, the amounts for the past few months have amounted to ridiculous figures, and no one has asked me for authorisation to add this option.

Furthermore, i have requested that my OD facility reduction was on R1000 (M), and I want the amount to now be R2500 pm (I – Inclusive of interest) from 01/07/2017, in order of managing account more effectively. To date this has not been actioned.

Reviewer Update

Hi,

I received a call from the Campus Square Branch manager who said they cannot find a Record of Advice from Absa Credit life, and that she can only refund me the last 3 months debit orders even though she has noticed this has been going on since last year. Furthermore she did not liaise with credit life to stop debiting my account she has asked me to contact them.

Firstly, I was inconveninced and debited without authorisation, yet i must suffer the loss of incompetence.

Secondly, why should I call and cancel considering I never called to take this option.

Please resolve this urgently.
