Unauthorised activity on joint home loan account
<p>My wife and I have a joint home loan with absa which is not linked to internet banking for security purposes.</p> <p>Someone at absa has now linked the account to internet banking without our authorisation.</p> <p>I would like to know who at absa is responsible for this and also who the peron's Supervisor is.</p>

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
I have confirmed with our Home Loans department and they have comfirmed that the account is not linked on Internet Banking.
In order for the account to be linked you must have a cheque or a savings account as the main account.
Hope the above is in order.

I want to know who at the home loans department linked our home loan account to my wife's absa account. I also want to see the authorisation which is supposed to come both from my wife and I since it is a joint home loan in both our names.

PS I did supply our absa home loan account number when logging this complaint. Hence you should have no problem in finding out to which account it has been linked

"Please let us know the month when the client thinks the account got linked to the profile so that we can check logs for the months accordingly.
As it will not be possible to extract logs for all months to get the requested information. "

Please go and speak to the HOME LOANS DEPARTMENT. They should be able to give you all the detail. If not I will be very concerned that they are handling that account without due diligence and good governance in which case I will escalate this case to the highest possible level in absa
