Unable to use credit cards
My in laws are private banking clients with ABSA and they have been banking with you for years. They have been unable to use their credit cards for weeks now, they put money into their credit accounts with the intention of using the money and now they can’t.
Nobody seems to be able to give them an explanation as to why they can’t use their cards, or when they can expect to have the matter resolved.
Being private banking clients they had hoped they wouldn’t have to deal with these inconveniences, please fix this!

03 Jun 2022, 12:39Good day Nthabiseng,
Thank you for your response.
I chose to keep my ****en name.
Would they need to wait weeks in order to get the issue resolved? it was queried on Monday, it is now Friday. Do you have any feedback on when they will be able to use their cards again?
Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response.
I do not have an answer yet because I needed to first sort out the issue about the surnames.
The matter will be investigated and feedback will be provided to the account holder using the email address in our system because you do not have signing powers in their accounts.
Kind regards Nthabiseng Sibande Customer Value Management Absa Bank Ltd

03 Jun 2022, 13:41Thank you so much for your response Nthabiseng,
Had you spent your time dealing with the issue at hand, which is finding a way for your clients to not be inconvenienced, and left surnames to Home Affairs, maybe we would be a little further right now.
My initial complaint was that they need to be able to use their money, I never requested being a signatory. I hope you can escalate this matter to the relevant department so that they can have access to their monies as soon as possible, they have been inconvenienced enough.
When I gave you Mrs. Maphatiane’s ID number, I also included her cellphone number. I would hate to tell you how to do your job but when you are done investigating surnames, please do give her a call as one of your valued customers and let her know you are working on the issue.
Thank you so much for your assistance.
