Unable to return debit order but charge me R416.00
I have cancelled my policies at two companies and although I have emailed the companies they kept on debiting my account. I went to the Absa branch in Baywest, Port Elizabeth to have it stopped and returned.I had to visit the branch twice .In the meantime I also tried to stop it via internet banking service and although I eventually (after the 9th attempt )got a message that my stop was successful it was never action-ed. I phoned the call center two days later to be informed by the consultant that it takes three weeks to stop and reverse a debit order . REALLY? I then phoned the Baywest branch again and the female that I spoke with advised me to simply open a new bank account.I was stunned when I was charged with unpaid debit order fees(3 x R 150.00) as well as internet banking fees( I was told that I have internet banking services free of charge) ,R 416.00, as well as an additional admin fees for who knows what.... Absa was very quick to send me sms`s informing me that I was influencing my credit score badly with unpaid debits! Now, as a financial adviser I am very well aware of it. The fact here is that no matter what I did ABSA *****ed up and they are the ones influencing my credit score badly.I have done as the consultant advised me and opened a new account another bank. I will never use Absa again. I apparently owe Absa bank R 826.00 for outstanding fees and I cannot close my cheque account until I have paid the monies but I refuse. I will NOT pay for services that I never got and I will NOT pay for Absa not being able to do their work.
I have been an Absa client since the beginning and this is my second letter to Hellopeter in 6 month`s time. Absa ,your service sucks!!Your consultants at the branch are pathetic and I am so glad that I am moving on!!!
