Unable to register for eStatements (Depositor account)

I am really disappointed with regard to how outdated ABSA's systems are. I recently created a new account (Depositor), however I keep getting statements of my finances. This is infuriating as the info is confidential. Just to add - the statements are sent via post, the envelope I received this month with my Depositor Account was torn open.

The statement information/Absa website says I can register for eStatements via Absa online or the call centre. I have tried both options and I cannot register for eStatements. The option does not appear on ABSA online, also when you call the call centre (friendly staff - that actually tried to assist) I get told that I need to go to the bank.

The Absa branch nearest to me closes at 3:30PM, I only knock off from work at 4:00PM. Seriously ABSA

^ This makes no sense, when I cannot make simple changes to my account, like registering for eStatements.
