Unable to close ABSA account

I have had a credit card with ABSA bank for almost 20 years. What they don't tell you is that you cannot close this account without the bank trying to take as much extra money from you as possible. I called the bank on 28/1/2021 to closed the account. After a very long discussion I was told that the account can be closed, but it won't stop payments from my card as I did not specifically asked that they stop the card as well. I told the agent that I don't want any more payments / fees taken from this account as I can't pay it back. My card is now paid off and I want everything stopped. This morning I received a call from the bank regarding the account. They cannot close the account as I still owe money. So this is what I owe: R140 banking fees for missing / lost card! I NEVER told them my card is missing / lost. I told them I need to close the account and stop the card. So I have to ay R140 because they ordered me a new card. I am also responsible for all the card fees for February. How do they manage to apply banking fees and new card fees to an account if all I wanted to do was stop the card and close the account as I told them I do not want any transaction on this card. I will never, ever do any business with ABSA if possible. As soon as I get my credit card closed, I will also close my savings account which I have had since I was a child
