*****ulent Transactions off my account and ABSA keep silent.

ABSA keeps on deducting different amounts from my account. I have logged a Dispute on the 17th February 2025 and got only a reference number for my inquiry, After numerous emails sent and sent and sent again with no reply we are on our 9th request that someone contact me and explain these amounts being deducted from my account without any knowledge or approval from me. Today is the 9th March 2025 and yet another debit went of my account with no explanation for what is is for and no feedback from ABSA. This is the worst service and non communication i have ever experienced. My whole family banks with ABSA but now we think it is time to make them famous for *****ulent transactions being processed. The more i find out about numerous people with the same situation the more worrying it is. Our money is not safe and everyone needs to think twice or more time before considering Absa. Worst service and bank ever. Absa now has taken over R1500 for no reason! What a joke and very shocking.

Yesterday i received a message from ABSA stating the following : "We have attempted to contact you regarding repayment on your ABSA Cheque acount, please not that an amount of R 659.39 has been transferred to your Cheque account in order to prevent further cost and charges against you. Call ***. FSP/NCRCP07"

This is NOT what i have asked for in all my emails and phone calls. Firstly when i asked to close my cheque account (Nr : ***) the first time there was still banking fees being deducted from that account that i had to pay to get the account closed the first time. I got an email stating that Absa is busy with my request and will be finalised soon. This did not happen as the following month i got hammered with more incured banking fees which i too then had to settle to close the account. (As the person on the other end of the phone explained to me). I did this and asked for the "proof" that the account was closed and never received anything. I checked on my Banking app and saw the account was not on my profile anymore.

On the 20th January 2025 i opened a new account "Ultimate" cheque account (Nr : ***). I started using the account and on the 3 of February 2025 an amount of R 941.98 was deducted from my account without my consent or approval. I queried this per email from Absa with no reply. I then phoned Absa wanting to know what was going on. And the person on the other side of the phone said to me it is something to do with my old account as there is an outstanding balance on the account (Nr : ***). hearing this i thought to myself how could this be as i have closed the account more than a year ago. On the 8th of March 2025 another amount of R 659.39 went of my account with the same reference.

Now i get the message yesterday as shown above that the amount has been transferred to my account. (Which is not in my account as yet)
So what happened to the incurred bank cost to myself for the old account closure as it was Absa's fault that the account wasn't closed when asked on two occasions and with NO communication from their side what so ever.

And now on my new account with no authority of approval my account gets debited twice and still i only i get a message of communication. How does this work ABSA? do you just debit people's accounts and hope they do not see or notice it? And if they do? Sorry for you it is what it is.

Please be very awake if you have an ABSA account or wish to deal with Absa in the Future.

Today is the 19th of March and I still only received an email stating "the matter is still under investigation"

On the 11th of march i was sent a message (see previous comment" that an amount of R659.39 was transferred back into my account which means something is wrong somewhere because the funds were never received in my account nor was there any mention about all the previous funds deducted from my account without any authorization or approval. And no mention about the thousands of rands it cost me numerous times for bank charges on my previous account that i requested (in writing) to be closed but was never done. Only after i paid the accumulated bank fees could the account be closed.
Is this what is acceptable from a bank like Absa? Is this now the status quo?

A very very very concerned customer.
