*****ulent case not resolved
I reported ***** with ABSA on 03/03/2026 with reference FSZA-2***4. I submitted evidence along with the affidavit and police case number. On 13 April 2026 the investigator advised me that she had journaled the full amount back to my account and that it would reflect within 7-10 working days. Two weeks later, I contacted the investigator to inquire why it still wasn’t reflecting. I have been phoning both ABSA ***** as well as the investigator every other day looking for updates, with promises that this has been escalated and that I will be called back but I haven’t been. It is now 26 May 2026, 6 weeks after the amount was journaled which I’ve yet to receive, and I’m still the one phoning every other day trying to inquire while nobody ever gets back to me.
Additionally, my ******** case is hinging on this because if I recover the amount, I will not pursue the ******** case, so the police keep asking for an update from me. This is absolutely absurd.
However, on 8 June 2026, ABSA decided to deduct DOUBLE what it had credited to me despite me being the victim of ***** and the bank only journaling funds owed to me back into my own account. Additionally, they didn’t only debit the amount that was credited, but double the amount that was credited. This experience has been absolutely horrific.
I have been with ABSA since I was 17 years old and this experience is showing me that I need to move my business to another bank.
