Tsk Tsk ABSA! Some service from your Deceased Estate Department would be great!

Once again, here I am. Hoping that complaining publicly will solve my issues like the last time. My father passed away in June, I had a request from the deceased department about settling his credit card. Its been weeks and I get half-****d responses and when I respond to those, I get crickets! I have followed up with numerous people and none have come back to me. I even went as far as to contact the social media agent who helped me the last time I complained, and she responded and told me to email someone else. I was trying to avoid this!

BUT my greater issue is that ABSA has been charging 18.5% on the outstanding amount!

Firstly, who gives an old man credit without enforcing insurance. Nice ABSA. Really Nice.

Secondly, when an executor is a relative (which it generally is)...you cannot expect for them to be on top of everything in a month! But if I had know about the absolutely disguising concept of continuing interest after death AT 18.5% - obviously I would have jumped to sort it out sooner. Although it takes time to get everything paid into a late estate account, so even if I tried, I probably wouldn't have made a month, two or three.

Thirdly, Now I sit with the problem of another month of interest because ABSA has failed me again in terms of following through on correspondence.

Can someone please help me regain my faith in my bank! Because the fact that I have to air my dirty laundry, to get help, is just ridiculous. If you don't have deceased agents in branch anymore, then please make sure they at least respond to emails.

And have heart for people who have lost someone. That's what makes a brand really shine!
