Trying to get a home loan out of ABSA is worse than pulling teeth

I am quite frankly heavily disappointed in the manner in which ASBA has been dealing with my home loan application. I have been a loyal ABSA client for 14 years. My first account was opened at ABSA at the age of 13 and I decided to stick with ABSA after I completed my studies in 2012 even though your competitors were at that stage, and still are, leaps and bounds ahead of ABSA.

So firstly, even though I can afford this property on my own, ABSA gives me a 80% home loan and has the audacity to request whether I want to continue with the application. I would have hoped that ABSA had the common sense to comprehend that if I had the cash available to only require a 80% home loan, I would have said so. I never said I want a 80% loan, I made it abundantly clear that I want a 100% home loan.

So then I get my father on board who has been an ABSA client since my birth. So in my mind, ABSA should have my father and mother's bank statements for the last 26 years at least. But what boggles my mind is that ABSA still requests my mother's payslips that she cannot access at the moment. Not out of laziness of any such thing, just purely because the school is closed for school holidays. The best of all is that ABSA has her bank statements for the last 26 years. So the consultant or number puncher who has to capture this home loan application simply has to get up and have a look on ABSA's system and see whether the same amount of money has been paid into her ABSA bank account for the month's in which they require the payslips. Now I simply call this "going the extra mile". But the number puncher rather sits back and requests additional info after additional info after additional info instead of just taking initiative.

What I continually ask myself is whether I would treat a client like this. The answer is no. What gets clients to come back is that "extra mile". Now I have a undergraduate and postgraduate degree, I am 26 years old and I would like to purchase a property for INVESTMENT purposes. Any logically thinking human would regard this person as someone that wants to go places so how about we, as ABSA, get on board and help where we can. In this manner, this person will keep his accounts with us and as he grows, the profit we make out of him grows. Excellent business decision. Not ABSA though.

Another interesting point is that I only have 30 days get a home loan to purchase this property. It does net help that ABSA keeps on asking me the same questions day in and day out. How long have I been busy with this application? And I am not one step closer to getting an answer. I am probably closer to getting another request for information email rather than a home loan.

As far as I am concerned, this was the last straw. I have been struggling with ABSA on numerous occasions over the years and I have come to that point where I simply just don't have the patience or strength to have to deal with ABSA anymore. Any other bank offers personal bankers to young, highly qualified individuals but again ABSA does not seem to follow that trend. They much rather prefer that these individuals go stand in queues in their branches. Don't ask me why though.

I need an answer on this application before 19 April 2017. And I cannot get access to the payslips, the school is closed. And my mother and father has been married in COP since they joined ABSA even before ABSA existed. So ABSA is well aware of this fact. And the OTP has been signed by myself, my mother, my father, the sales agent, the contractor and the developer.

I would actually love to get a call from some senior ABSA representative about this matter.
