Treated like a ******** for changing my surname back to my ****en name

I have recently reverted back to my ****en surname and went to all my service providers and banks to update my new details. In true ABSA style they were the only institution to make it impossible to do. Firstly I was asked by you enquiries lady as to why I have changed my name. I don't see how that is relevant as I am entitle to use my ****en name at any stage. I presented her with both my ID books but apparently ABSA also need a letter from Home Affairs. When I explained that as this is my ****en surname I am merely reverting back to it and do not need a letter. She glanced at both my ID books and then asked for proof of residence. I presented her with a rates account but she would not accept it as it is in my "old" surname. She was holding proof in her hand that I was one and the same person and obviously as I am in the process of changing my surname I don't have an account in my new name. Clearly she did not want to assist me from the onset and suggested that I go back to FNB and pay for a bank statement to use as proof of residence. Why should I, maybe I should just close all my accounts and be done with ABSA's shoddy service once and for all.

Reviewer Update

Despite the cut and paste response from Daphne Le Grange at ABSA on the 15/9/2016 I have yet to be contacted by anybody from ABSA. What is the point of the official business reply if it is not followed through?
