Treated like a ********

On 2nd March I tried to purchase something on my card, but it was declined continually. I noticed on internet banking three days previously that I needed to FICA myself again after 5 years. I did not receive an SMS about this, although ABSA say they did send it. So I went to ABSA Primrose to draw money at the ATM. Suddenly I noticed a message popping up about FICA saying I must go into the branch immediately, then my card came out. I thought that was it, that it wasn't going to give me any money until I FICA's myself, so snatched out the card and stormed into the branch. Unbeknown to me, R1,000 came out and I didn't see it. I only realised I was R1,000 poorer when I got the notification later while inside the branch. Someone must have ****** it who was behind me. Horrified, I mentioned for them to please check the footage from the security camera and tell me who took it. They refused to help me and didn't care two hoots about my crying and having a breakdown. No sympathy whatsoever, like robots. The man who was trying to FICA me, meanwhile, refused to accept a copy of my lights and water account, which I have used everywhere else! I wouldn't stop crying, so they ushered me into an office and shut the door, leaving me to cry it out until closing time, when I came out to ask what was happening. They gave me a case number where they would investigate and I left the bank to a huge rain storm going on outside. Today, 8th March, I went back with my original water and lights account, and the same man made me wait another 30 minutes, then I showed him my bill and he looked at it and refused to accept it AGAIN! He said that Ekurhuleni had made a typing error on my address on the front as to the back, and the address didn't match. Therefore the document was invalid. I asked him if he was joking? On the front it says I live in a road, but on the back it says I live in a street. On the front it says I live in the suburb ending with "Ext. 1", but on the back it didn't have the extension. So what? Not serious. But he was a pedantic IDIOT and should lose his job. As a result, I am waiting for my R1,000 to come back to me, as it turns out they did view the footage and the ATM sucked back the money when I didn't take it out, and thankfully nobody was behind or around me, so the angels saved my back that day. Then when I have that money, I'm closing my account after decades of dealing with ABSA. Today I went and opened a cheque account at FNB costing me only R75.00 a month as I am over 55, meanwhile ABSA could only give me a savings account which I used as a cheque account, costing me over R450.00 a month just in fees!!! For years now they have milked this older lady. Should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not alone with this idiotic FICA nonsense. Three people I have spoken to, even people in the bank last week, say that they feel like *********. A friend of mine had her account frozen and all her debit orders bounced. Why is it only ABSA who does this FICA nonsense? Not FNB, not Capitec, not Std Bank? Why??? I'm GATVOL!
