Treated badly
I was not happy about the way Absa handle the matter. I am Siyanda Reve. My late father Mr Mzolisi Matthews Reve had car finance with Absa. He died on the 24th January 2021. His wife Mrs L.L. Reve Sent the documents at Absa Butter branch in Eastern Cape, where she was told my father had credit life on his Opel Mokka. She asked for the balance it was R30 000 according to them. Promised to send the documents to East London branch and get back to us it was in February 2021. We waited till June , that's when my mother decided to go to East London branch and was told that they made a mistake the car didn't have credit life and now it's owing R100 000. With interests of a dead person. We agreed that they must take the car. We waited until September there was nothing from Absa , then my sister Zintle Reve went to Joburg branch . They said they will take the car because we refused to pay interests that were calculated when my father was dead. Absa was communicating with my sister now via emails of which we have them. Then they went quiet until this year in April whereby I was called by Mphathisi Mbakazi from Umtata, telling me that he phoned Lwandiso Reve whose not even my father's son. What angries me is the manner of approach. I'm asking myself why was Lwandiso called by Absa. My mom is banking with Absa,my sister is having credit card from Absa , I had car finance with Absa. I just want to know why they contacted a person out of the family and told him our story. Mphathisi had the audacity to tell my mother that Lwandiso said we could not afford to pay the car. There's no professionalism and privacy in Absa?? And the car was taken this year in May. After such a long time. Absa opened wounds that were healing and treated us like ********s . I don't about the car they took, but the way we were attacked and them including family members that are not involved was very very arrogant.
