Total system incompetence

I cannot begin to express the frustration my family has experienced with ABSA vehicle finance this month.

My husband financed his Nissan NP200 through ABSA in Feb-16 and from the start it was a total disaster with the financing process taking 2 WEEKS. Sadly, I cannot say that things have improved.

We selected that the debit order be run on the 2nd of every month, Nov would mark the 10th debit order and yet it has never been deducted in time - LATE EVERY SINGLE MONTH!! Why tell us to select a date that will suit us best to just simply fail month after month after month to deduct it on that date?

But November takes the cake...

1. 2nd of the Nov came and 2nd of Nov went - first we didn't think anything about it - I mean for 9 months the debit order has been deducted late so same old same old.

2. A few days later still no debit order - again didn't think much of it - the person pressing enter to run the batch must have taken a personal day.

3. Call 1: my husband receives a call from ABSA enquiring why payment has not been made. They tell him it is likely that something went wrong on my side with FNB. Shocked my husband replies that he checks his balance last thing at night and first thing each morning to make sure that there is enough money since we are waiting for the debit order to be processes. My husband then phoned FNB to enquire what is going on and they inform him that the payment wasnt even requested by FNB.

He then phones ABSA explaining that FNB says there is nothing wrong on their side and that ABSA didn't run the debit order. After being transferred a few times my husband gets through to a person who says debit order will run that night.

4. Call 2 (still no debit order processed): again ABSA contacts my husband . Stating that there was something wrong on ABSA side and that they are running a project to resolve my failed debit order. and that it will go off on the 16th. He expressed his frustration because now he could possibly go into arrears with his payment which might have interest penalties and hence further financial implications.

5. Finally, on 11 Nov the debit order runs successfully. But wait there is more....

6. This morning we receive a lovely message from our bank's payment notification system saying that the lovely payment for our bakkie was beautifully deducted AGAIN! This is such an awesome surprise just before Xmas because no one is saving for the festive season and everyone has extra cash lying around for a double loan payment. (Please do recognise the sarcasm as I've run out of patience with ABSA just typing up this nonsense.)

And yet there is more...

7. My husband then called ABSA this morning and guess what... Their system is OFFLINE and they are unable to provide any assistance or clarification.
