Title ABSA credit card paid but credit information not corrected and no response received
I brought my ABSA credit card fully up to date on 24 March 2026. ABSA issued a letter of good standing confirming that the account is not in arrears and that the current monthly amount due is zero. However, the credit information currently reflected across the major credit bureaus shows the account as overdue and reflects a fixed monthly commitment equal to three months of payments. This fixed monthly commitment does not exist and materially distorts affordability assessments. I submitted a formal written complaint to ABSA via three separate channels yesterday morning, namely contactcard, actionline, and general customer support. As of today, I have received no response, acknowledgment, or timeline from any of these channels. As a direct result of the incorrect credit information, vehicle finance has been blocked. This creates the risk of out‑of‑pocket costs to maintain my current vehicle, which would otherwise already have been traded in. The issue has also delayed my ability to proceed with time‑sensitive corrective eye care for my daughter, where timely access to the correct prescription glasses is important to prevent further vision issues in one eye. I am requesting urgent assistance to ensure that the corrected information is successfully submitted to and received by all credit bureaus, together with a clear timeline for resolution. I would appreciate contact directly so that this matter can be resolved without a public back‑and‑forth. For context, I settled a credit facility with a different financial institution on 30 March 2026, and that account was correctly updated and reflected on my credit profile within a few days. This demonstrates that timely and accurate credit bureau updates after settlement are both possible and standard.
