THIRD PARTY DEPOSIT FEES!!!!!!
I am today advised that if I deposit cash into a supplier of mine's bank account I will in addition to the bank deposit fees charged them have to pay 1.4% of the value of the deposit. As such the cash deposit fee will be duplicated and represent some 22% of our gross profit.

If however the account holder or their employee makes the deposit the deposit will not attract the additional fee. Can the face of the person making the deposit really make such a differance.

I am further advised that its because we deposit large amounts of cash? Is this not what banks do for a living?

When ask what is considered large deposit the Hayfields Banch manager refused to answer me. I was told that its because we hold up the ques. However the charges levied on the account at present runs at around R3 600-00 per hour of service. (not to shabby)

I was further told its because we deposit coin, I simply ask is ABSA a bank or not and is this not part of what a bank does, accept and dispense money?

To be advised the day before the implementation of the PENALTY and when trying to find any literature on the ABSA website I find nothing. This is disturbing.
