Thinking about opening an ABSA account online? DON'T!!!

C-***5: After waiting for almost a month to receive my card, I finally received it today. Without a PIN and the card is not activated. I apparently have to go into the branch anyway to FICA my account, so what exactly was the point of FICA'ing it online or opening the account online in the first place?

On the insert with the card it states: "To activate your card, your first transaction must be a standard point-of-sale or ATM transaction using your PIN. What PIN since the card came without a PIN and the online Banking PIN does not work - REDICULOUS!!!

This must be the WORST service that I have ever received and I was planning to open accounts online for my 3 kids, guess not.

I didn't have my FICA documents so could not get my account activated at the branch either - even the branch consultant told me that people opening online loan accounts can't be helped in the branch as that process also does not work properly online.

ABSA need to seriously rethink their Digital Banking Strategy because their processes does not work at all.

Should have stayed with my previous bank - thought they sucked...
