Think before you bank with ABSA #endoftheline

Due to some financial constraints I phoned ABSA homeloan dept to enquire about the possibility to delay payment of one of my homeloans for a period of two months whilst waiting for the sale of another asset (which incidentally is also a property financed by ABSA). Eventhough ABSA has a process in place for such an event, apparently if you were to be retrenched and thus do not have a payslip they are not bothered to help. I have been a customer from even before ABSA came to being and never missed any payment commitment, however, it seems as if that does not matter. I guess I will be taking my business elsewhere, perhaps somewhere where the interest and back charges I do pay is much more appreciated.
