They won’t close my account and keep adding charges

I asked Absa to close my account and they told me I had to pay money for charges first. I did over some months. Now I finished paying they didn’t close my account and I has minus on the account. This bank charges R250 for a failed debit and I’m supposed to pay? I have a credit card with them how am I supposed to pay it if I’m busy paying for an account that I asked them to close? I don’t want to bank with Absa any close my account
