The worst insurance experience ever had in my life.

My geyser burst in September 2016. No problem phone the ABSA insurance to lodge a claim. I had no end of problems from the carpet people to the painters to the geyser people. Eventually all was sorted except a pay out for a carpet. For three days I tried to contact somebody on their telepone number. I eventually spoke to a human who listened to my story and then put me on hold for 28 minutes and 32 seconds. I put the phone down. I tried again (3 days later) and I got another human who said ABSA forgot to send me a form that I needed to sign stating where I would like the money deposited. This human told me that he was emailing it to me as we speak. I verfied my email address (which ABSA has on record) four times. Yes he said the email is on its way. I am still waiting for this email. It is now December 2016. I never wanted this insurance. I had all the insurance required with Sanlam but when we took out a SECOND bond ABSA INSISTED that we had to have insurance with them because Sanlam (wait for it) did not have earthquake cover in the policy we had. If we did not take out the ABSA insurance we would not get the SECOND bond not an initial bond a SECOND one. The amount in question for the carpet reimbur*****t you ask is R1227.70. Is this not a ridiculous state of affairs. We have been with ABSA for over 20 years and are private bankers. Makes you think. Certainly has made me shop around for another bank and I am definitelty cancelling this insurance.
