THE USELNESS AT THE ALBERTON BRANCH IS CAUSING MY BUSINESS A LOT OF DAMAGE!!!

I opened several business account last year Septemeber (2015) at the Alberton Branch.

When we opened the accounts with Boetie, he lost some of the documents! And ever since then we are trying to sort it out and they keep on putting my account in lock up.

I have endlessly tried to resolve this matter, by resubmitting all the documents via email, and have visited the branch now for the 3rd time resubmitting documents again.

If you take into account what the POPI acts says about protection of information - the bank to date, has not taken accountability for the lost copies of private documents such as the Directors ID's, which is unacceptable to say the least and I don't know if anyone realises that this carelessness is putting us, the customer at risk!!

Out of desperation to resolve this issue, I sent their CEO, Maria Ramos an email. I do understand she is extremely busy, but surely she has people attending to her emails about complaints reaching her office. To date I have had no response from anyone. I even logged a call at their so called "action line" - had no response or results from that either.

It is understandable that there is 8 293 complaints on hello peter about Absa and their poor service - is there even hope?

On the 28th of June 2016, I sent the following message to Maria Ramos, copying all the managers and people I have liased with to date and had no response from any of the managers.....

Good evening Mrs Ramos

Hope you are well

It is with great concern and much frustration that I send you this mail.

Is it not sad that we have to resort to such extremes, to bother a CEO of company, with things that could have been resolved by staff who are paid to attend to these things?

I'm sure Absa and its management have a lot on their plate with Barclay's withdrawel from the group and adding the useless staff must make these challenges you are facing, impossible !!

Let me tell you that if other clients have had the same experience than I had, you'll not only face investors walking away from the group, but you will lose clients on a daily basis. At the end it is not the small income you generate from having my account which will result in huge losses for your bank when I leave, but all of these small accounts leaving your bank over a period......and all the small drops make a bucket full.....

I honestly think you should consider teaching your staff that the ripple effect of their bad attitudes, poor service and lack of responsibility, will catch up with them eventually in the form of job losses..... because the bank will have to cut down on staff as the income decreases bit by bit ..... as the bucket gets full......and other banks will be very grateful to Absa's staff who is handing them clients on a silver platter......

I opened several business accounts last year September at your Alberton Branch. Besides the fact that we only saw the business banker 45 minutes past the scheduled appointment time, Boetie (the business consultant) was happy to inform us that he was overworked because people who are leaving doesn't get replaced (yet another reason to believe Absa is facing far greater challenges than those known to the public) How unprofessional!!.

After several times our business accounts were locked, I finally got the truth out of someone. ...... they misplaced or shall I say lost the documentation.
Every time it gets locked because the fica docs are lost, I have to phone the branch effortlessly trying to sort this out. While I wait for it to be unlocked, I can't do anything or pay creditors. We even had a debit order returned once or twice as a result of.

Do you think I have time for this? Can I submit an Invoice to Absa for my time waisted to try and sort this out?

Minah sent me a list of everything I needed to resubmit, which I did and yet tonight when I wanted to pay the supplier who installed my alarm system I couldn't because yet again my account has been locked.

Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to get told your debit order bounced or you couldn't pay your staff because Minah who usually helps to unlock the account is in training?

Nandipha, who took over from the previous manager Johann, doesn't seem to be interested in resolving this matter at all!!! I raised the question with her on what is her department doing to recover the lost or misplaced documents and she didn't even bother to respond to that. Has this manager been trained on Popi Act? She doesn't seem to take the matter of keeping private information protected serious - and if they In fact did, I want to know that they are looking for these documents and I need a commitment that it did not landed up somewhere or with someone which might put the directors of our company at risk.

I'm sure that by addressing this with you, you will realise how desperate I am for this matter to be resolved immediately. I never want my accounts in lockup again because the accounts weren't Fica'd because Absa's staff didn't take care of our private and confidential documents and lost it.

Hoping that you'll take the necessary time to resolve this matter, I hereby give you the main business account number-----------------------

Needless to say..... I was ignored by the "important lady" and her so very important "managers"

Hope that by putting this on Hello Peter someone will do something or..... Goodbuy Absa
