“The tax certificate for tax year 2022 is not yet available.Please do come back later.Absa apologises for the inconvenience caused.” This is the message I have been receiving for the last couple of months from Absa when trying to retrieve my tax certificate for 2022. I have called Absa numerous times about this issue and even sent emails (an email to a representative by the name of Portia at online banking, and another email to ***) but to no avail. I cannot file my tax returns because of this ongoing nightmare I’ve been experiencing with Absa. It seems Absa is refusing to assist me with a critical document that I am entitled to. What should I do now Absa? You’re standards of service have been on the decline, to a point where you are now hindering me from submitting my tax returns! Going the legal route is never pleasant, but what is a person to do when a bank is making one’s life exceedingly difficult, especially when it concerns tax returns?? I am very disappointed in you Absa, perhaps it’s time to move all of my money and investments to a bank that will at least provide me with the basics, including tax certificates. Really Absa?!!
