THE MOST TERRIBLE BUSINESS BANKING EXPERIENCE WITH ABSA EVER!!

I wanted to log a complaint after it took ABSA Instant banking 1 month to sucessfully open my business account which I was told should only take a week or two maximum. Its Tuesday morning but it kind of feels like Monday morning so I do not want to even go into that, seriously!

During the registration however I did select to have cards for me and my partner so we could transact on the account individually. So once the account was finally registered we were told to go to the branch to meet our friendly business banker. When we got there the business banker was far from friendly in fact she seemed irritated by our pressence its as if she was doing something every importamt and we had just disturbed her. We told we were told to come see her and she asked for what? She told us she did not understand wht we were there or why we were told to come to her because there was no reason for us to be there. Ok fine can we please have our business cards and we will leave, she asks what the business name is and disappears into an office. It is when she comes back we learn that the resolution we signed said that we did not want cards and instead wanted to transact together. I explain that this is not what we wanted but since we were there could we fix it. She says we would need to call the Instant Banking people to fix it, I say ok can we please do it here at the branch. She explains that their phones do not call out to the business banking number and points to a red phone with a list of numbers with no number for Instant Banking on it. I did not want to ask this but I stood there thinking to myself " So there is no other phone in the entire branch that we could use to make the call?" but I did not ask this because I had noticed a trend with everyone that I dealt with up to that point. The trend that I had seen from everyone I dealt with was that the only way solutions that they came up with did not involve them doing anything about the problem but to simply pass the buck.

Ok fine I had a bad experience, it happens you know life goes on. But it has happened again!!

I registered a Classic Business Account online, with a monthly fee of R59.50 (which is in black and white on their website as I type this). We are a new company so we not making any money as yet, so during the registration I did not select any services that would add additional charges to the R59.50. However in the first month we are charged R98 and the only transacting on the account we did was make a deposit to activate it. I do not know why we are charged R98 when the monthly fee is R59.50 but its ok, its not a train smash, right? This past week was a long weekend so I did not manage to make it to the bank to make a deposit to keep the account open, so naturally the account goes into the negative at -R98, no problem (even though I am still not aware why we are being charged R98). The next day I wake up and the account is now -R327.10. I call 0 ********** 02 and speak to a consultant there and alarm bells go off!! The guy firstl says that the monthly fee for the Classic account is actually R65 per month as off January 2017, I tell him that cant be because the website says R59.50. He does not seem to understand or comprehend why that is a big deal and simply says he does not know why the websites says R59.50 when it is actually R65 and that the will check the website (Which I had just told him I am looking at). He goes on to tell me that I have also been charged R100 for internet banking, which I did not ask for because we are not making any money right now and do not need any added services, which is why I did not ask for it during my account registration. To be honest at this point I am freaking out and he mentions some other charges that all add up to the R327.10. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!!

And like I said the trend with people I talk to at ABSA is that the only solution they can come up with is on that does not involve them doing anything but to pass the buck. So that guy tells me to call Instant Banking because they would be the only ones to help me with this problem. I call Instant Banking, the guy that picks up the phones lets me explain everything and then simply tells me to hold. I'm thinking he is doing somthing about it but instead I hear someone else answer the phone ( mind you I was not told I was being transfered). I am not speaking to the agent that did a terrible job at openeing mu account which, which ended up taking an entire month to open. I have to explain myself again to her and guess what, pass the buck again! She tells me that she can not help I would need to speak to my business banker.

At this point I refuse to go back to that woman, who is probably going to send me somewhere else. So I have decided that before I go any further I would log this complaint and maybe just maybe I would get a call from someone who would be willing to actually help me and give my some average services for once because at this point I think asking for good services from ABSA would be asking for too much!!
