The fine print on car rental

Some one bumped into my car on the 13th of January. I repprted it on the 16th of January, to start the process of repairing my car. Since i stay in Piet Retief, the insurance told me I need to take my car to Ermelo to assess the damage.

Since i have family in Volksrust, i requested to have the car assessed there. On the Thursday afternoon, I drove through to Volksrust. The panelbeater then told me, I had to leave the car there, since the boot couldnt open.

Since I had to work again on the Friday, I took my mother's car to get back to Piet Retief, which left her without transport.

When I phoned in regards with a rental car, they told me I could only get one in Newcastle - another 2 hours drive, which I did in order for my mother to have her car back.

Its been 26days already - and they havent even started on my car, since they are still waiting for parts. The rental car is only for 30 days, after which I have to make a plan myself.

I thought the idea of insurance is to not have this type of trouble? Becaise if, by some miracle, my car is finished within the next 20 days, it will cost me +/- R7000 for the rental car?!?!?!?!

Definitely not the service I was expecting!!!

On friday, somebody tried calling me at around half past 12. I told them I cant speak now, they should phone between 1 and 2, when it is my lunch time. At around half past 2, they phoned again. But I was busy working again, so I told them to phone after 4. I am still waiting for that phone call to hear where we stand with the issue!?!?!?!?
