THE ABSA BANK LISTED ME AFTER MAKING PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT
As a client I feel that I have been treated unfairly and unreasonably after making payment arrangements. I was involved in a car accident last year (June 2017), then my insurance company managed to only pay an amount of R375 000.00. Then there was a shortfall of R89000.00 that I had to pay. In June and July 2017, I proceeded to pay the same monthly instalment of R8300.00.
In October 2017 payment arrangements were made with the bank to pay only an amount of R2300.00 Per month due to a reduction of capital amount from R490 000.00 to R89 000.00(short fall). Payments arrangements were also made due to financial crisis that I found myself in. However in December 2017, I had received a call from Lulama Mdluiwa and Ms Selina Sibanyoni stating that the account was in arrears. This was a BIG shock of my life because I had been paying for this account an amount of R2300.00 as requested to ABSA contact center and Lulama. The ABSA bank had listed even after I have told them that I was busy trying to get a loan to settle the whole amount of R89 000.00. Several email requests were sent to Lulama Mdluiwa and Marlene Ramsamy, the line manager. I had even asked Marlene Ramsamy to contact me regarding my query but until today there is no response from her.
They say that I’m in arrears with ABSA vehicle for an amount of R13 400.00. This has been again a big shock of my life. In the first place an amount of R375 000 is a payment in advance to ABSA bank. I wouldn’t have paid this amount if it wasn’t for an insurance. Secondly I’m not supposed to continue to pay a monthly instalment of R8300.00 on monthly basis when the capital amount has been reduced from R490 000.00 to R89 000.00. Lastly I did inform the contact centre, and Lulama, that I will only be able to pay an amount of R2300.00 per month. My call for monthly instalment of R2300 had been ignored completely. I feel that I have been treated unfairly and unreasonable with listing through Compuscan. I had sent several request to Lulama and his line manager 'Marlene Ramsamy to relook at this account and make sure that I’m delisted as soon as possible. I want to get a loan through my bank to settle this debt. I have also requested Marlene to contact me regarding this matter, she has even ignored my emails.
