TERRIBLE TREATMENT BY ABSA
I have had my car financed by ABSA since 2012. Our relationship has been terrible a has brought a very bad experience and I really don't ever wish to be financed by ABSA again. I now need to get rid of this account because it is clear there is nothing healthy that I will ever get from it except bankruptcy. Firstly, I had long informed the company in June 2017 to change my debit order from the 1st of the month to the 15th after my pay date changed at work and sent written communication in that regard. My debit order was never changed, ABSA continued debiting on the 1st of every month and I would eft my installment on the 15th and that has become standard practice. That has adversely impacted my credit record for presumably dishonoring of debits. That has according to ABSA attracted arrears to my account despite it not being my fault. It is only with ABSA that I experienced installments that are incorrectly/ 'accidentally" recorded to another client and that also gained me a so called "NOTICE OF REPOSSESSION" at some point. To cut the story short and get straight to the reason that currently frustrates me; On the 4/4/2018 I had requested for a settlement quote, and I was furnished with it reflecting an amount of 94913.36 which was valid until the 10th of April 2018. I concluded a deal with the potential purchaser (as I am currently selling the car) and that deal was based on the stipulated settlement amount. Consequently, that settlement quote lapsed on the 10th April 2018 and I called for another settlement quote on the 13th April (2 days later) and to my shock that the settlement I got had went extremely high to 107 447.53. that means in just 3 days it has increased with 12534.17. When I ask for the explanation for this substantial difference between the two quotes, I was told.. 1. Because I asked for a quote and did not settle within a prescribed timeframe, the quote accumulates daily interests. 2. That the quote I received was too low 3. I also received a warning that if I do not settle the second quote, it will also go higher after it has lapsed.
Immediately after that call, i paid my monthly installment of 6200 and nothing has changed in terms of my settlement amount. I am really confused by all this and frustrated. I immediately lodged a complaint with ABSA's Complaint Resolution Department of which they said they will only respond between 3-5 working days. Meanwhile I am about to lose the deal I had with the potential purchaser which was based on the first quotation. I need help urgently, ABSA must sort out this mess!! I am really fed up dealing with this excuse of a bank that is soo unreliable, ************* and unpredictable!
