Terrible Customer Service from Richard Mashego for a home loan application

On the 10th of July 2025 I app**** for a home loan to do renovations on our existing property and sent our forms and documentation through to our adviser at Absa Bank in Somerset West. Our advisor then sent the forms and documentation through to the Home loan department for processing. 7 working days later I still had not heard anything. I then called the branch and both the Manager and the consultant that assisted us as they promised to follow up and sort out the issue. They did just that and Richard Mashego was assigned to process our application. He rep**** that very same day on the 22nd July requesting additional documentation despite us already supplying those documents with our original application. I then resent the documentation and a clear breakdown of the questions he had. Then on the 24th of July I get another email requesting more documentation, which within the hour of receiving I rep**** to his mail with the documents. I sent another email a day later asking if he received my mail and if he needs anything else and I have still not got a reply. Today is the 29th and I have emailed Richard to follow up on our application and still no response. At this point I call in to the home loan department only to be told that my documents have not been uploaded and they are still waiting on a reply from me but I rep**** on the 24th with the very documents Richard asked for which I confirmed with the consultant on the phone. Today is the 29th!!!!!! A process that is supposed to be 7 - 10 working days has been close to 14 days with me doing the follow ups and chasing. I see on Hello Peter there are complaints about him for exactly the same thing. So unprofessional and I am sure there are millions of unemployed South African's who would give anything to have his job and feed their families. If Richard doesn't like his job then maybe he should rather take a step back and allow someone else the opportunity to assist the clientele of Absa Bank
