Taking my money without notice

During October 2016, I transferred some money to my credit card account at ABSA as a savings pocket to use later during the month. When I checked my balance on 13 Oct, I found that about R4000-00 was missing from my account!! I went to my branch in Kirkwood, Eastern Cape and they contacted ABSA credit card division to enquire and apparently it was a system generated reduction on my credit card facility.

I was not contacted in any manner regarding this reduction and according to ABSA cc division, they have the wrong phone number for me, that is why I did not receive an sms!?!

If I had known this would occur, I would rather have withdrawn the money and kept it with me. I feel it is totally unacceptable for the bank to just take my money and reduce my limit without consent, or even without just informing me!!

I kept this money aside for an important family event that I have to attend during the weekend of 22 Oct 2016.

Thnaks for the reply and I hope to hear from you or the bank very soon. According to me it comes down to Theft if you take money/belongings of another person without their consent. Even if money is owed, one still cannot just take without prior arrangements being made.
