Student cheque account

I have been using Absa since I was 17 and I had a megaU account and earlier this year I went to Absa to open a student cheque account because Im a student and I was told I won’t get any monthly fees. My account will work the same as a MegaU account. So I had no issue with it.

But I get charged more than R200 every month and I don’t understand how because it’s a student account. My account is always left with R0 balance after the bank takes the money I use to buy milk and bread.

I’m always broke and I don’t understand why I’m paying so much since the bank said no bank charges.
