I had an vehicle insurance policy with Absa I Direct from 2008 until I've cancelled it yesterday. I have since cancelled the insurance after the insurer rejected my vehicle claim of an accident which happened on the 01 February 2015. The reason for rejection is speed obtained from my own tracking device report. This rejection is not being referred to as speed in the later but \4.2 You must take all reasonable care to prevent or minimise loss or damaged". When I took the insurance i was informed that the tracker is for \""THEFT AND HIJACK\"" and their policy schedule is written exactly those words. So clearly this speed factor is being hidden under this clause to deceive unsuspecting clients. I'm now faced with financial burden of R938 000.00 to pay to the financing company but I thought I had an insurance.

I'm now in the process of institution legal action but I cant do so since my legal team is looking for assessor quote of damages so that they can issue summons.

I have written e-mails to the loos adjuster and his manager but both are not responding.

I'm now frustrated on what is it I must do.

ABSA VALUES

Integrity - We act fairly"
