Struggle to close down credit card account

Such a struggle to close down my credit card with Absa. Went to the branch in Menlyn Maine and paid cash over the counter to settle the account. I was then told that I should phone Absa's Card Division to close down the account. When I phoned them today, they said that I had to return to the branch to pay additional fees to close the account. So very frustrated!!!! An absolute waste of my time - so glad I decided to rather move to FNB!
