So Disappointed

Let me start with a background story.

Opened my account with Virgin Money last year, and from the beginning, Virgin Money has been nothing but helpful with any query I may have. They have been so patient with me and helpful regardless.

Lately I have been considering my credit card options, as I find that Virgin Money is a little bit pricey when it comes to their banking fees etc. and also because I have found a bank that will be more suitable for me and my financial status.

The past 2 weeks or so, I have been having some ***** suspicion happening on my account but unfortunately I have got no proof so I'm not gonna go do anything about it, but I decided that I wanted to phone the offices and find out if I could maybe close my account but still pay it off, which I am unable to because I still owe. Completely understandable, I get it. Then I asked if I could lower my amount so that I wouldn't spend on that account but could rather focus on paying it off and eventually close the account. Also unable to do that, but I understand why.

One thing that completely infuriated me was the fact the consultant I was dealing with Nklaandla Mzaidul (something like that) had an attitude from the moment we started speaking. He was very argumentative and maybe I'm wrong and that's just how he speaks, but surely I shouldn't be feeling like he is judging or like he thinks I don't know what I'm talking about. I get the fact maybe he is fed up because it's the end of the day and he probably has had a lot of rude clients screaming at him. I get it. I'm also in a position like him, but not once do I speak or sound the way he did to a client. On top of that, I wanted to speak to his manager (you know us clients sometimes want to speak to a manager because we feel like we are being listened and we are not just another angry client) and he did not allow me to speak to a manager. That's when I lost it. He kept saying he is assisting me and that I should have no reason to speak to a manager. Well, after that attitude of course I have the right to speak to a manager.

No matter how big or small my complaint is, a client should always be able to speak to a manager.

I have loved Virgin Money, but now I cannot wait to pay off my account so I can get the hell out.

To people that are considering Virgin Money - Don't even go there. I promise you will regret it. Capitec Bank or FNB are definitely banks that I am considering, and at least I know they take their clients seriously.

Kind Regards,
