Slack service from Absa Insurance

Claim no. ********** 26 Nov 2018 10h32 I Spoke to : Kgomotso who took all the details and said she would escalate and excess would be R500 12h49 - I received a call from the contractor who came the next day (27th Nov) to investigate problem and took all measurements and said they would generate a quote and forward to ABSA Insurance

3 Dec 2018 15h33 Spoke to Sadia who said the quote needed to be changed and they are waiting for the office of the contractor to submit the amended quote. Person handling the claim: Palesa

4 Dec 2018 14h58 Spoke to Lerato who said she was going to check up on the notes. After 15 minutes, line cut off. 15h14 : Phoned again and spoke to Yola. She was going to escalate. I explained that the original lady I spoke to was going to do exactly that. After explaining the urgency to her she was going to put me through to the consultant dealing with the claim. Spoke to Masamba : Rufus Pillay - Not available - > Shaun Gys - away for 2 days -> furthermore he did not know the company structure

Phoned Actionline 4 Dec at 15h32 Spoke to Sophie who was going to lodge the complaint after I gave all the details Ref: **********

The urgency is that if we have another heavy rainfall, the problem will be 10fold and yet there is no sense of urgency. I am currently sitting with holes in the kitchen ceiling as water rand through the kitchen light . Holes were drilled to alleviate the water pressure on the ceiling otherwise ceiling would form a huge bubble and collapse with the weight of the water. If this is the service that a PRIVATE BANK account holder gets from ABSA, then I guess its time to move on.

So I get a call from Absa insurance telling me that the cause for the leak was debris (leaves) in the valley and therefore they reject my claim. 1. I have absolutely NO trees in my garden so why would I suspect that my valley on the roof would be clogged with leaves? 2. The only 2 trees that are in the vicinity, one belongs to the neighbour and the other to the municipality because its on the pavement. The municipality has since cut their tree down at my request as it was messing in my back yard. So I am, being penalised because of other peoples trees? The roof was extended about 18 to 24 months ago. There was absolutely NO reason for us to believe it was getting clogged with trees since we don't have any and now ABSA is rejecting this claim through no fault of my own!!
