Silvia Van der Neut worst bank manager EVER

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unprofessional Conduct at ABSA Mall at Reds (Centurion) I am extremely disappointed by the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment we received at the Absa Bank branch at Mall at Reds. My fiancé visited the branch to request assistance with stamping a letter required for school documentation. Before he was even given an opportunity to fully explain the request, the branch manager, Silvia Vander Neut, responded in an unnecessarily rude and dismissive manner. She abruptly shut the door in his face and returned to her office without offering assistance or clarification. When he attempted to address the matter again, she came out briefly but maintained an unhelpful and hostile attitude. We explained the situation — that I am currently unwell and had already arranged to personally submit the required stamped letter along with my ID and police documentation — yet she refused to assist. Her exact words were that she “does not care whether I am sick or not” and that I must be physically present, after which she again closed the door and walked away. What is particularly concerning is that other ABSA branches and banks were willing to assist with the same request without issue. The refusal itself is one matter, but the manner in which we were treated — dismissively and without basic courtesy — is unacceptable. I lodged a formal complaint last week and have received no response from ABSA, which further reflects poorly on the branch’s service standards. As clients, we expect professionalism, respectful communication, and a willingness to assist — even if the answer is ultimately no. The conduct displayed by Silvia Vander Neut falls far below acceptable customer service standards. I request that ABSA investigate this matter urgently and provide feedback.
