I requested R4000 from an ABSA ATM in Johannesburg. I couldn't count the money because the ATM was at a ******* hotspot at a service station. Besides, I didn't think I had to . The ATM dispensed R2000 in a few R200 notes, some R100 notes and some R50s. I have an overseas bank account. When I asked ABSA what I could do to get my money back, I was told to contact my own bank and they would get in contact with ABSA about the short pay. I did contact my bank. After roughly 2 months, my bank got back to me saying that ABSA dispensed the full amount in 40 x R100 notes. That isn't true, I know so, even CCTV footage from the ATM will confirm I had R50 notes and R200 notes from what was dispensed by the ATM. How do I get money back?

Hi Basani, I've provided the reference number for the withdrawal as per your request, still no amend to the inaccurate information which I was told was supp**** by ABSA. This false information was the reason the investigation was closed. Still no refund. Could you please look into this as promised? Thanks.

Hi Basani, I'm still waiting for a resolve. According to my bank, the matter is closed because ABSA has told them I received 40 x R100 notes from ATM. Obviously, that was not the case, please email me saying that you didn't respond to the ATM dispute request from my bank, or at least, that ABSA didn't respond with that untrue information, and I can finalise the matter with my bank. Thanks.
