SHOCKING TREATMENT IN DECEASED ESTATE ACCOUNTS

Its bad enough that you need to deal with a loss of you dad but the logistics of dealing with ABSA is another issue. With the passing of my father notification was sent to his primary bank being ABSA to close and move all money to the executor account. The bank acted and processed as instructed but then politely send my mother a credit card statement for a mere R85.00 after the fact and have the cheek to put another months interest on the account while they don't even come back to you. I have repeatedly try to engage with the Deceased division to get them to clear this as they were suppose to clear and remove all charges before transferring the balance to the deceased Estate. As we know it take several months to resolve an estate and don't see why mom should be penalised for the miss-management of closure of deceased accounts. My reference number [#ID: a0348b54-Ar5u-NJCO-ERB7-lBwOknuUvKXv#].

Shame on you Absa for not replying to customers complaints and then charging interest on a deceased estate.
