Sheer Technical Incompetence by ABSAC
On Monday at around 19:34 I did a cashsend to myself. On Tuesday I went to the ATM to withdraw the money at around 17:33
I inputted the cashsend 10 digits and the pin, the ATM kept on displaying Processing Your Request message until it cancelled the transaction without issuing a slip, from moment it displayed an error message. I went to the next ATM which released a slip indicating the cashsend has been redeemed.
I then sen a WhatsApp to the ***** department who called and advised that I visit the branch.
At the I was humanly assisted. Consultants were excellent.
My cashsend was never redeemed, your ATM was faulty. The fault of your machine is affecting my livelihood since I recieved an SMS indicating you will resolve it within 3 days.
This is very disturbing taking into account I do not use bank cards. I only do cashsend. Why must your failure to properly manage your ATM's and technology affect me or any other?
I did a cashsend to myself, why must crediting the same account which sent the money to the number in your system become a big or something difficult.
What happens if I send the last R4000 to someone desperate in another province where there is no relative? That person becomes a street beggar while having money but waiting for your 3 days to resolve issue created by yourselves.
The ATM's are yours, they are managed by yourselves, you receive same complaints every 20 minutes daily.
Why abuse us this way? Your technical incompetence is uncalled for, the abuse you have to your consultants is irritative. Why must they attend to us knowingly they cannot help and every information I share with them I had disclosed it to the ***** department.
You are pathetic
Thank you for your response and effort.
My account has been credited, the branch has called me and the ticket has been closed.
Consultants and everyone at ABSA is a service superstar unfortunately the executives are failing everyone.
Executive should have compassion in system design and communication.
A faulty machine which botch the transaction should never communicate a message that the cashsend has been redeemed somewhere whilst it is stuck on the machine.
A better wording could make a difference, e.g the transaction interrupted and incomplete kindly go to the branch.
At the branch if it is confirmed the money was not redeemed, a gesture of goodwill can save the day. It is your duty as a bank to have an account ready to immediately credit your clients than telling us to wait for 3 days.
We have elderly people, and people in very desperate circumstances. Any wait is punishment.
