Shameful service received by ABSA.

Case No. ASZA-2***2 On the 6th of September I was *****elently debited for a couple of thousand rand and received the text message on my cellphone regarding this banking activity. I proceeded to immediately contact ABSA to notify them of this and they stopped my card with immediate effect. All the debits at this time showed "unauthorised". On the 8th all of these ********** debits was deducted from my account. I proceeded to phone ABSA and was instructed that I needed an affidavit before they could commence with my case. I then forwarded them my affidavit and after one week of no communication I phoned them again to enquire when these funds will be put back to my account. I was told that an investigator called Cedric still needs to interview me and he did actually phone me the same day to do the interview. I was then told by him that my case would be resolved the following Wednesday. After that Cedric and my case went quiet. I proceeded to follow up on numerous occasions, even sent emails to them and after close to a month and a half later Im still informed that Cedric needs to do a interview with me. Now my concern here is that I can afford to lose a couple of thousand rand but what of the families that are really in dire need of their ****** funds and their financial institution refuses to assist them out of no fault of their own. You be the judge if you would like to have backing like that. This thread will be updated until this case is resolved.

Case follow up - On the 17th October a Group Customer Care manager from ABSA named Resona, responded to my complaint as you will find above. I proceeded to private message her on this platform with my personal contact details as she promised to also provide her contact details to me as well as investigate the matter further. This I can state did not happen and up to now no personal contact was made with me. What I did receive was the following generic message "Absa: Kindly forward your Affidavit and Police Case Number to ***ca. For an update, call ***". According to this message they are still awaiting my affidavit which I confirmed twice through their Helpdesk to be in their possession for a while now. Now if there are any issues with my affidavit or extra information that they require from me, this is currently not being communicated to me at all. What I am experiencing is a Helpdesk that will spin the same story and "escalate" the matter that at this point seems to be absolutely false. No problem ABSA, your ineptitude in handling this small case will result in you losing this client for good.
