Settlement offer paid, but not deducted

I had outstanding loan account. Asked for settlement offer. Received and paid that offer. After that I am struggling to get any response for paid up letter. Today another company contacted me again for the full outstanding amount!! As if the amount paid is not received. Can't get hold of anybody to assist, and suddenly no response on the mails.
