Settlement of Vehcile Finance

We had a vehicle financed through Absa vehicle finance for the past couple of years.<br> <br> An interested party approached us with a view of purchasing the vehicle from us. An agreed price was reached upon which the individual paid over the required funds. The money was deposited into our Absa account after which a settlement was requested from Absa. The transfer was done at an Absa branch for the settlement on Friday morning (21 August ). As it was a payment from an Absa account to another Absa finance account we assumed the settlement would reflect in a few hours, maybe a day at most. But no, first off we were told to phone back on Saturday, the settlement still did not show, then we had to phone back on Monday (today), it is still not showing, we have now been told to phone back on Wednesday only!<br> <br> This means we cannot give a proof of settlement to the person who paid for the car days after the actual transfer has been made (from Absa to Absa). Where is this money now lying gaining interest? How on earth can a transfer from an Absa account to another Absa account take close to a week to reflect and how does the call centre personnel not know how long this should take? Unacceptable
