Settled an outstanding balance
Had an outstanding balance of +R5k against the monthly installment of +R10k. On the 2nd of Dec a debit order of the full monthly installment of around +R10k was deducted and on the 04th it was rectify they deducted was was due and credit the rest. In short, the vehicle finance was settled with Absa. This morning I called Absa requesting a letter saying that the vehicle has been settled. I am told that they have to reconcile the account. I say what are they reconciling as the statement as 0 is outstanding. Few minutes later a receive an sms saying +R4k is outstanding with no breakdown or nothing. The +R4k doesn’t appear on the online statement. As per the statement there’s 0 balance. If this is not ****gery, I don’t know what it is. You pay the full balance as per the statement and you are told there’s more that’s not on your statement that’s outstanding. Absa please explain.

I received another text message saying “your request has been successfully processed on your Absa Vehicle Finance account. Please contact us should you require any further assistance”. I really don’t know what these messages mean. There’s no supporting email. I don’t understand what the additional amount is for. I have been struggling with my business hence paying off my debt. I can not afford any costs that were not discussed with me. I have settled what was outstanding as per the statement. I start with a new company in January in a directorship role and I will close my account with Absa like I did before due to poor service. Your assistance in resolving this matter urgently will be appreciated.
