Same Problem

Good Day.

My Fiancée Karen phoned Absa Home Insurance on 6th January 2020 for a geyser that’s is overflowing. ER Plumbing came out the next day. The contractor from ER plumbing explained that the thermostat was faulty and that’s why the geyser is overflowing. I told the guy that I think there is something wrong with the pressure valve. He told me then the pressure valve makes no difference. So they replaced the thermostat and the overflow valve. Paid the R500 excess and off they went. The geysers stopped overflowing, everyone was happy. The geyser is situated outside the house, out of site. After a while we discovered that the geyser is again overflowing. Now my question is why would the exact same problem occur again. We phone Absa again on 12th March and explained that this is the same problem. The consultant just kept on saying “ It’s another problem not the same one “ Absa send out the same company different guy. I explained the situation to him and he then said to me it’s the thermostat and the exact same parts as previous claim should be replaced and again I have to pay the excess. I have refused cause someone is making money out of this *********ness. Now a month later and the geysers is still overflowing but also leaking, and now tripping the electricity. I’m thinking it will burst anytime soon.

In Short

- Paid R500. Thermostat and overflow valve. Still the same problem - Would have paid R500 again for same problem and replacing same part on 2nd claim. What about a guarantee. - Now have to Pay R800 for the geyser that’s is going to or have already burst.

What should happen.

- Remove ER Plumbing from your system as it seems they ripping customers and ABSA off. - Send a different company and replace the necessary parts
