Safeguarding of accounts
My account has been siphoned by ********** debit orders for at least 6 months now. The Sunninghill branch reversed some of them (25 August 2017) but those older than 40 days - that money is gone. The branch referred me to disputes(at)absa.co.za(email) to resolve the matter permanently. A response from that email referred me back to the branch - so what must I do now? I have tried to resolve this issue outside of social media. Anyway, the big issue is as follows: 1) These debit orders cannot be reversed online despite there being a facility to do so. The only ones I can reverse are the legitimate ones - this implies that ABSA is in on this ***** hence making it difficult for the customer to reverse. 2) R8.50 is charged to process a debit order and R26.00 charged to reverse it. This is free money for ABSA and unfair to clients (another implication that ABSA is in on this gross injustice - because they make money whether it is reversed or not. I fact, more money if it's reversed). 5 days after reversing those 3 debit orders another one has been processed (31 August). A quick search on the internet revealed that this issue has been in existence since 2013. It has been 4 years - Surely there's a solution by now. Please assist
